About

I'm Raymond Peck, currently the CTO and Co-Founder at Intertru Inc and a Venture Fellow at Progressive Ventures. My journey in tech started back in the early 90s when I co-founded Pure Software with Reed Hastings, which we eventually scaled to a unicorn exit. Since then, I’ve spent my career at the intersection of deep engineering and strategic leadership, from building category-defining products at H2O.ai to leading teams in AI-driven medical summarization. These days, I’m deeply focused on agentic AI, specifically exploring 'LLM Council' patterns and how we can use tools like Claude Code and MCP servers to accelerate development by 20-50x. I’m passionate about 'humanist' leadership and helping founders navigate the path to venture scale. Whether you're looking to talk GTM strategy, agentic workflows, or early-stage B2B AI, I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned from the trenches.

Background

Career

Co-founded Pure Software with Reed Hastings in the early 90s, leading to a unicorn exit. Held technical leadership roles at BitGravity and H2O.ai, followed by fractional VP and CTO roles in agentic AI and medical tech, and currently co-founding Intertru Inc while serving as a Venture Fellow.

Education

MS, Electrical Engineering (Computer Architecture) from Stanford University; BS, Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University.

Achievements

  • Co-founded Pure Software (Unicorn exit to IBM)
  • Two-time Dr. Dobbs Jolt Award winner
  • Improved AI medical code mapping accuracy from 65% to 94%
  • Gartner Magic Quadrant Visionary and DEMOgod award recipient
  • Increased IoT data recall by 55% for shipping fleets

Opinions

  • AI safety is a core market differentiator, not just a constraint.
  • Founders must aim for venture scale ($100m+ ARR) to justify VC funding.
  • Human-driven decomposition of tasks remains essential even in agentic AI workflows.
  • Software should prioritize 'delighting' customers through humanist leadership.
