Amit Majumdar has been a Business Leader & Strategist for more than 2 decades, shaping several businesses during his tenure. Amit Majumdar‘s last assignment was with VantageCEO Advisory Private Limited, a company he had formed to provide strategic consulting services to businesses with a potential to grow. Prior to that, he was at Healthspring, a leader in providing community healthcare in the Primary Healthcare space with a Pan-India network. While being their CFO, he was involved in driving sales, business growth, profitability, products expansion, tech adoption, besides bringing about operational efficiency & effectiveness. Prior to Healthspring, he was employed with AGS Transact Technologies, a leader in providing Banking Payments Solutions with USD 185mn in revenues, as their Group President and CFO. He was involved in preparing the company for its Initial Public Offering (IPO), besides overseeing general operations and improving business productivity. Prior to joining AGS, Amit was with Angel Broking, a Leading Retail Financial Services Group, for more than ten years, having served as the Executive Director & Chief Strategy Officer. A key member of the leadership team, Amit had been involved in the growth of the organization from 15 branches 120 employees to 170 branches and 6000 plus employees spanning across the Indian geography. His role required him to envisage Group-level business strategy, decision making and implementation besides assisting in Operations, Risk and Compliance. He was also responsible for the Corporate Finance, Human Resources, Corporate Communication and Branding divisions of the Group. Amit has been part of several closed group discussions on various matters of regulatory importance. His contributions have resulted in formulation of several landmark regulations for the Capital Markets. Amit has made appearances on television and has been quoted in the economic dailies like The Economic Times, The Financial Express and The Business Times. He has also made appearances in magazines like Business India. In his previous assignments, he was associated with Ernst & Young (Audit and Consultancy division), Cho Hung Bank (a Leading Korean Bank) and Rabo India Finance.

Amit’s role was all encompassing, in not just providing strategic direction with regard to finance, but also overseeing sales, strategy, operations, steering the company to profitability, raising capital and managing investor relations. He introduced business intelligence dashboards and conceptualised the idea of app-based customer support and service.
Group President & CFO
As part of the Senior Management at AGS, Amit was responsible for providing strategic direction to Finance and Legal functions of the group and to also facilitate core operations across all businesses. He has also overseen a USD 215mn Initial Public Offering of the company, enabling the company to file its DRHP and concluded International and Domestic Roadshows.

Amit was part of the Group's Strategy Think-Tank, which looks at growth across products, services and geographies. He was also responsible for M&A and any inorganic growth opportunity. New businesses or functions got incubated under him and then handed over after scaling up. He was responsible for protecting the business models from macro-economic challenges, thus making them predictable and also scalable.
Executive Director - Operations & Finance
In this role, Amit was responsible for the Operations and Finance function for the organization. He brought in IFC as a private equity investor (a first ever by a World Bank subsidiary in any brokerage firm worldwide) during this period. This was considered a landmark event in the industry, which led to the transformation of the company. Since then, he has continued to manage all relationships and continues to stay involved in looking for opportunities for raising funds for the Group - either through debt or equity.
