Machine Learning Engineer & Harvard Neuroscience PhD
Machine Learning Engineer at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI)
Developing segmentation tools and neural network architectures like CNNs and transformers for large-scale bioimaging datasets.
Intro
I am a Machine Learning Engineer at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Research Campus, where I bridge the gap between advanced AI and neuroscience. With a PhD from Harvard and a background as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, my work focuses on developing deep learning architectures—specifically CNNs and transformers—to solve complex segmentation and image enhancement challenges in bioimaging. My career has spanned from co-founding an adaptive learning SaaS to managing neural circuitry labs at MIT. I am deeply passionate about Open Science and the potential for AI to accelerate biological discovery. I’m always looking to connect with fellow engineers and scientists who are interested in generalist ML frameworks or the future of connectomics. Whether you're looking for insights into the AI@HHMI initiative or just want to discuss the intersection of life sciences and technology, I'm happy to chat.
